Historian Donald W. Meinig argues that the imperial behavior of the United States dates back to at least the Louisiana Purchase. He describes this event as an, “aggressive encroachment of one people upon the territory of another, resulting in the subjugation of that people to alien rule.” Here, he is referring to the U.S. policies toward Native Americans, which he said were, “designed to remold them into a people more appropriately conformed to imperial desires.”

The consequence of American imperialism during the early 1900s was to assist in the conquest of territory which in that year was largely a case of the conquest of territory by other major powers, namely:

 • Starting with the Philippine Resolution where America helped the Philippines in liberating territory from Spain, where America wanted an economy in the Philippine Territory.
 • Wilson's intervention, during the Zimmermann Telegram war aimed at controlling raw materials in Africa.
 • World War II, which wanted America as a "World Watch" for economic gain.
 • Dinging War in Western Europe, where America wants to weaken Moscow's growth and at the same time wants a world economic recovery.

From some of the above objectives, it can be concluded that America wants to dominate important sectors of the world, one example is the economic sector in which the United States helps several countries that are even outside their countries.

Further explanation

Imperialism is a term derived from the word "imperator" which means to rule. Imperialism is a system in the political world that aims to control other countries in gaining power or profits from the state under their control. Imperialism has existed since the 19th century, initially triggered by Benjamin Disraeli who was the Prime Minister of England at that time. Imperialism is divided into 2 namely based on time and purpose, namely:

1. Imperialism is based on time

 • Ancient imperialism emerged before the industrial revolution in Britain which was driven by 3G, namely Gold, the Gospel, and Glory.
 • Modern imperialism emerged after the industrial revolution. Encouraged because of economic factors and current industry needs.

2. Imperialism is based on the purpose

 • Political imperialism
 • Economic imperialism
 • Cultural imperialism
 • Military imperialism

United States imperialism is the economic, military and cultural influence of the United States in other countries. This influence is usually associated with expansion or expansion into foreign territories. Large-scale expansion is the main goal of an empire

Answer:

Other studies supported incarceration for preventing criminals in a return to crime.

Explanation:

Hello. You did not show the text to which this question refers, which makes it difficult for it to be answered. However, after extensive research it was possible to conclude that there are many studies that claim that incarceration prevents criminals from committing crime again. This is because imprisonment promotes social isolation, where the prisoner is unable to promote crime in any sphere of society. In addition, the prisoner is constantly watched, something that does not happen on conditional freedom.
