If 1.00 mol of argon is placed in a 0.500-L container at 20.0 ∘C , what is the difference between the ideal pressure (as predict

ed by the ideal gas law) and the real pressure (as predicted by the van der Waals equation)?
For argon, a=1.345(L2⋅atm)/mol2 and b=0.03219L/mol.

Hey There!

ideal gas law  :

PV = nRT

P = nRT/V

P = (1*0.082)(18+273)/(0.5) = 47.724 atm

For VDW :

(P + a(n/V)²)(V - nB) = nRT

P = nRT/(V - nB) - a(n/V)²

P = 1*0.082*(18+273)  / (0.5-1*0.03219) - 1.345*( 1/0.5 )² = 45.62

P = 45.62 atm

Pdif = P2-P1 = 47.724 - 45.62 = 2.104 atm

There are four hundred participants in the local Thanksgiving 5K race. If 51% of the participants are female, what is the ratio
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

51:49 is the ratio of female participants to male participants.

Explanation:

Percentage of females in the race = 51 %

Percentage of males in the race = 100% - 51 % = 49%

Total participants in race = 400

Number of women participants = 51% of 400=\frac{51}{100}\times 400=204

Number of men participants  = 49% of 400=\frac{49}{100}\times 400=196

Ratio of female participants to male participants :

\frac{204}{196}=\frac{51}{49}=51:49

potassium   +  cobalt                potassium chloride  + carbonyl  sulfide
sulfide          chloride

carbonyl sulfide :-  it is chemical compound with linear formula (OCS ) normally written as (CoS)  .it does not show its structure . its is colorless flammable gas with an unpleasant odour.
Potassium chloride :-  It is metal halide salt composed of potassium and chlorine. it is odorless and has white or colorless crystal appearance <span />

What property do the elements of the noble gas family all share?
svet-max [94.6K]
Six elemental gases are composed of such exceptionally stable atoms that they almost never react with other elements. They are the gases that make up Group 0 (the rightmost column) of the periodic table: helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), and radon (Rn).
