Can someone please explain how to do number 9.
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

x<15, probably

Step-by-step explanation:

maybe multiply 2 to each side to eliminate the fraction. so 3x+15<60. subtract 15 to isolate the variable term so 3x<45. divide by 3 to isolate x so x<15. check the work. is the inequality true for all values of x less than 15? let's try the first possible integer value, 14, to be sure. 3(14)+15= 57. so 57/2<30. now 57/2 is 28.5 and 28.5<30 so it seems right

Solve the system by substitution 3x+y=-16 and y=-x-4
kap26 [50]

Solution,

y = -x-4......(i)

3x + y =- 16.......(ii)

Now,

Substituting the value of y in equation (ii)

or, 3x + (-x-4)= -16

or,3x - x - 4 = -16

or, 2x= -16 +4

or, x = -12/2

: x = -6

Then,

Substituting the value of x in (i) equation;

or,y= -(-6) - 4

or,y= 6 - 4

: y =2

please help with maths work
prisoha [69]

Given:

In a right angle triangle ABC, \angle B=90^\circ,x=8.7\ m, and \theta = 45^\circ

To find:

The value of AC.

Solution:

In a right angle triangle,

\cos \theta =\dfrac{Adjacent}{Hypotenuse}

\cos \theta =\dfrac{BC}{AC}

\cos (45^\circ) =\dfrac{8.7}{AC}

\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}=\dfrac{8.7}{AC}

On cross multiplication, we get

AC=8.7\times \sqrt{2}

AC=12.30365799

AC\approx 12.304

Therefore, the measure of AC is 12.304 m.
