First way: x * 1.05

This computes directly what 105% of x will be.

Second way: x + (x * 0.05)

This takes x (which is 100%) and adds 5% of x to it.

Answer and Explanation:

Given : Expression 105\%\text{ of }x

To find : Write two expressions that could be used to find the expression?

Solution :

Expression 105\%\text{ of }x

The two method that could be used to find the expression is by converting percentage into fraction or converting into decimal the result remain same.

1) Converting percentage into fraction,

105\%\text{ of }x

=\frac{105}{100}\times x

=\frac{105x}{100}

=1.05x

2) Converting percentage into decimal,

105\%\text{ of }x

=1.05\times x

=1.05x

Answer and explain ILL MARK BRAINLIEST I DONT UNDERSTAND
Sati [7]

First let's reduce the feet to miles

there are 5280 feet in a mile therefore

26400 feet=5 miles

31680 feet=6 miles

Jet A(the first jet) descends 5 miles in 96 miles

Jet B(the second jet) descends 6 miles in 120 miles

We can compare these as fractions to see which is steeper. This can be viewed as slope and the origin (0,0) is the airport.

slope: 6/120=?=5/96

1/20=?=5/96

Now we know that 5/100 =1/20 so 5/96 must be bigger than 5/100 because you are dividing by a smaller number.

so 1/20<5/96

So Jet B is descending steeper than Jet A.

As for linear model, I don't exactly know what your teacher means but I think I actually used the linear model when I'm thinking of steepness as slope in the coordinate plane, I will include a picture.

In this extremely zoomed out graph, you can see the blue line is just slighly higher than the red line(slope as in explanation is way easier to tell) this could be seen as the linear model) :) Hope it helped!

4(2x + 1) = 12x + 3 - 4x +1
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:4(2x + 1) = 12x + 3 - 4x +1=0

Step-by-step explanation:

group like terms =4(2x+1)=12x-4x+3+1

add similar elements=4(2x+1)=8x+3+1

add the numbers=4(2x+1)=8x+4

expand=8x+4=8x+4

subtract 4 from both sides 8x+4-4=8x+4-4

simplify=8x=8x

subtract 8x  both sides=0
