Answer:

The no. of adult's tickets sold is 25.

The no. of adult's tickets sold is 247

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Tickets for a basketball game cost $2 for students and $5 for adults.

The number of students was 3 less than 10 times the number of adults.

The total amount of money from ticket sales was $619.

To Find : No. of each ticket were sold

Solution :

Let x be the no. of the student's tickets sold

Let y be the no. of adult's tickets sold

Since we are given that The number of students was 3 less than 10 times the number of adults.

⇒ x = 10y -3 --(A)

Now cost of 1 student's ticket is $2

Thus, cost of x student's ticket is $2x

Now cost of 1 adult's ticket is $5

Thus,cost of y adult's ticket is $5y

Since we are given that the total amount of money from ticket sales was $619.

⇒2x +5y =619 ---(B)

Solving equation A and B by substitution method :

putting value of x from (A) in (B)

We get :

⇒2( 10y -3) +5y =619

⇒20y-6+5y= 619

⇒25y = 625

⇒y = 625/25

⇒y=25

Thus,  the no. of adult's tickets sold is 25.

Putting value of y in equation A to get value of x .

⇒x = 10(25) -3

⇒x = 247

Thus the no. of adult's tickets sold is 247

the half life of c14 is 5730 years. Suppose that wood found at an archeological excavation site contains about 35% as much C14 a
Furkat [3]

Answer:

The wood was cut approximately 8679 years ago.

Step-by-step explanation:

At first we assume that examination occured in 2020. The decay of radioactive isotopes are represented by the following ordinary differential equation:

\frac{dm}{dt} = -\frac{m}{\tau} (Eq. 1)

Where:

\frac{dm}{dt} - First derivative of mass in time, measured in miligrams per year.

\tau - Time constant, measured in years.

m - Mass of the radioactive isotope, measured in miligrams.

Now we obtain the solution of this differential equation:

\int {\frac{dm}{m} } = -\frac{1}{\tau}\int dt

\ln m = -\frac{1}{\tau} + C

m(t) = m_{o}\cdot e^{-\frac{t}{\tau} } (Eq. 2)

Where:

m_{o} - Initial mass of isotope, measured in miligrams.

t - Time, measured in years.

And time is cleared within the equation:

t = -\tau \cdot \ln \left[\frac{m(t)}{m_{o}} \right]

Then, time constant can be found as a function of half-life:

\tau = \frac{t_{1/2}}{\ln 2} (Eq. 3)

If we know that t_{1/2} = 5730\,yr and \frac{m(t)}{m_{o}} = 0.35, then:

\tau = \frac{5730\,yr}{\ln 2}

\tau \approx 8266.643\,yr

t = -(8266.643\,yr)\cdot \ln 0.35

t \approx 8678.505\,yr

The wood was cut approximately 8679 years ago.

A packaging company is planning is in the planning stages of creating a box that include a three dimensional support inside the
Oliga [24]

Answer:

The length of the diagonal support is 69 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

Dimensions of the box: length = 6 feet

                                       width = 5 feet

                                       height = 8 feet

The diagonal support relates with the diagonal of the base and the height.

From the base of the box, let the length of its diagonal be represented by x. Applying Pythagoras theorem;

/Hyp/^{2} = /Adj 1/^{2} + /Adj 2/^{2}

x^{2} = 6^{2} + 5^{2}

x^{2} = 36 + 25

   = 61

x = \sqrt{61}

  = 7.81

let the length of the diagonal support be represented by l. So that;

/Hyp/^{2} = /Adj 1/^{2} + /Adj 2/^{2}

l^{2} = x^{2} + 8^{2}

  = \sqrt{61} + 64

l  = \sqrt{\sqrt{61} + 64 }

  = 61 + 8

  = 69

Thus, the length of the diagonal support is 69 feet.
