In general, the borders of the federal state of Washington are in accordance to natural physical features.

- These areas are comparatively smaller in size and lack proper planning in settlement.
- The use of natural resources is often unsupervised. These areas also lack modern facilities and amenities.
- The population of these areas is substantially low and most of the population depends on agriculture and allied activities to make a living.
