I don't understand how are you supposed to do this
never [62]

Answer:

Scatter plots can be a little confusing, but all you need to do is look for an association (what direction the dots appear to be going in). Positive association resembles this / whereas negative association resembles this / flipped the other way. It could also be a curved line, which would be a nonlinear association. If it appears to have no direction at all it has no association. Other wise, all you have to do is read the data to answer the questions. e.g. for the first question find the highest score in the right side of the table and then the corresponding number in the left side. Hope this helps!

If (cos)x= 1/2 what is sin(x) and tan(x)? Explain your steps in complete sentences.
Natasha_Volkova [10]
The correct answers are:
1) sin(x) = \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}
2) tan(x) = \sqrt{3}

Explanation:
Given:
cos(x) =  \frac{1}{2}

Step 1:
Since, according to the Trigonometric identity:
sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) = 1 -- (1)

Step 2:
Plug in the value of cos(x) in equation (1):
sin^2(x) + ( \frac{1}{2} )^2 = 1 \\ sin^2(x) + \frac{1}{4} = 1 \\ sin^2(x)  =  \frac{3}{4}

Step 3:
Take square-root on both sides:
\sqrt{sin^2(x)} =  \sqrt{\frac{3}{4}}

sin(x) = \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}

Now to find the tan(x), we would use the following formula:

tan(x) = \frac{sin(x)}{cos(x)} --- (2)

Plug in the values of sin(x) and cos(x) in equation (2):
tan(x) = \frac{ \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2} }{ \frac{1}{2} }

Hence tan(x) = \sqrt{3}

How would I find the surface area of the cone in terms of pi? It has a radius of 7 cm and a slant height of 19 cm.
julsineya [31]
The formula is SA = \pi r^{2} + \pi rl.  r is the radius and l is the slant height.  In your case it would be 49\pi + 133\pi = 172\pi.

What is the momentum of each hockey player? Hockey player 1 has a mass of 65 kg and a velocity of 3.8 m/s
DaniilM [7]

Answer:

Momentum of  hocking player 1: 247\ kg\ m/s

Hockey player 2: =249.4\ kg\ m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

For first hockey player :

Given that

mass (m) =65\ kg

Velocity (v) =3.8\ m/s

p=mv\................(1)

where p is momentum

put the value in equation (1)

p=65\times3.8\\\\p=247kg\times m/s

For second hockey player :

Given that

mass (m) =58\ kg

velocity (v) =4.3\ m/s

p=mv\ ...............(2)

Where p is momentum

put the value in equation (2)

p=58\times4.3\\p=249.4\ kg\times m/s
