Vadim26 [7]

Answer: A 95 % confidence interval for \sigma^2 :-

2.90

A 95 % confidence interval for \sigma :-

1.70

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Sample size : n=5

Standard deviation : \sigma : 2.84

Significance level : \alpha=1-0.95=0.05

We assume this is normal distribution

By using chi-square distribution, the critical value will be :-

\chi^2_{n-1,\alpha/2}=\chi^2_{4,0.025}=11.14

\chi^2_{n-1,1-\alpha/2}=\chi^2_{4,0.975}=0.48

The confidence interval for population variance:-

\dfrac{(n-1)s^2}{\chi^2_{n-1\alpha/2}}

=\dfrac{(2.84)^2(4)}{11.14}

For standard deviation just take square root in the above inequality,

\sqrt{2.90}

if you know that 7×8=56 how can you use the commutative (order) property of multiplication to find the product of 8×7
laiz [17]
Commutative prop states that 7*8 = 8*7, so the property means that 8*7 = 56, just like 7*8

kolbaska11 [484]
Does this work?

Sally took a 50 dollars bill with her going to the laundromat, and after she came home she looked through he pockets and she had:

2x 20 dollar bill
1x 5 dollar bill
1x 1 dollar bill.

how many loads of laundry did she do?

answer: she has left: 2*20+5+1=46 dollars

before she had 50 dollars, so she must have spent 50-46=4 dollars, which is 2*2, so she did two loads!
