1/4 - [-3/8]

\frac{1}{4}- (-\frac{3}{8})

Negative times negative become positive

\frac{1}{4} + \frac{3}{8}

Now to add fractions we make the denominator same

4  and 8 are in the denominator

Least common denominator of 4  and 8 is 8

To make denominators same , we multiply the numerator and denominator of first fraction by 2.

\frac{1*2}{4*2} + \frac{3}{8}

\frac{2}{8} + \frac{3}{8}

The denominators are same so we combine the numerators

\frac{2+3}{8}

\frac{5}{8}

\frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{ - 3}{8}  =  \frac{5}{8}
5/8 cross multiply on the top then multiply the denominator you get 20/32 reduce that it's 5/8

A hair salon in Cambridge, Massachusetts, reports that on seven randomly selected weekdays, the number of customers who visited
morpeh [17]

Answer:

a: 28 < µ < 34

Step-by-step explanation:

We need the mean, var, and standard deviation for the data set.  See first attached photo for calculations for these...

We get a mean of 222/7 = 31.7143

and a sample standard deviation of: 4.3079

We can now construct our confidence interval.  See the second attached photo for the construction steps.

They want a 90% confidence interval.  Our sample size is 7, so since n < 30, we will use a t-score.  Look up the value under the 10% area in 2 tails column, and degree of freedom is 6 (degree of freedom is always 1 less than sample size for confidence intervals when n < 30)

The t-value is: 1.943

We rounded down to the nearest person in the interval because we don't want to over estimate.  It said 28.55, so more than 28 but not quite 29, so if we use 29 as the lower limit, we could over estimate.  It's better to use 28 and underestimate a little when considering customer flow.

Write each equation in standard form. identify A,B,C.
aleksley [76]
Write in y=ax²+bx+c form
solve for y

given
\frac{x+5}{3}=-2y+4
solve for y

easy
minus 4 both sides
\frac{x+5}{3}-4=-2y
times -1/2 to both sides
\frac{x+5}{-6}+2=y
y=\frac{x+5}{-6}+2
y=\frac{-x}{6}-\frac{6}{5}+2
2=10/5
y=\frac{-1}{6}x-\frac{6}{5}+\frac{10}{5}
y=\frac{-1}{6}x+\frac{4}{5}
y=ax²+bx+c
y=0x^2+\frac{-1}{6}x+\frac{4}{5}

a=0
b=\frac{-1}{6}
c=\frac{4}{5}

Solve the compound inequality 10 + x &lt; 20 and 4x &gt; -24
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

c

Step-by-step explanation:

1.) move all terms that are not x to the right side.of the inequalities.

10+x≤20 <u>4x</u>≥<u>-24</u>

-10 -10 4 4

x≤10 x≥-6

2.) combine the two equations to make -6≤x≤10
