A=l*w

A=3*10

30=A

add x to l and w the area doubled

60 = (3+x)(10+x)

FOIL

60 = 30 +3x+10x+x^2

60 = x^2 +13x+30

subtract 60 from each side

0=x^2 +13x-30

factor

0=(x+15) (x-2)

x+15=0  x-2=0

x=-15  x=2

x cannot be negative so x=2

new dimensions

3+2, 10+2

Answer: 5m ,12m

The expression for the area of the shaded region is s^2 - pir^2

<h3>Area of composite figure</h3>

The formula for calculating the area of the shaded part in the given equation is expressed as:

Area  area of square. - area of circle

Since

Area of square = s^2

Area of circle = pir^2

substitute

Area of shaded part = s^2 - pir^2

Hence the expression for the area of the shaded region is s^2 - pir^2

A home cleaning service takes more time to clean larger spaces. The table shows the number of minutes it takes for
algol [13]

Answer:

80 minutes.

Step-by-step explanation:

If you look at the graph, every 50 square feet, the time goes up 20 mins.So if 150 were to become 200, then 60 would become 80.

Carly is saving money by babysitting on the weekends. Last month, she saved $120.
DENIUS [597]
$156.
you would change the 30% to a decimal by moving the decimal point two spaces to the right.
this would get you .30 or .3
you would then multiply the $120 by .3
you would get 36
then since she saved 30% MORE you would add the 36 to the 120 and get 156

Find the general solution of the differential equation y^(5) −2y^(4) + y^(3) = 0.
Gwar [14]

y^{(5)}-2y^{(4)}+y^{(3)}=0

We can reduce the order of the ODE by substituting v(x)=y^{(3)}(x), so that v'(x)=y^{(4)}(x) and v''(x)=y^{(5)}(x). Then

v''-2v'+v=0

has characteristic equation

r^2-2r+1=(r-1)^2=0

with root r=1, which has multiplicity 2, so that the characteristic solution is

v_c=C_1e^x+C_2xe^x

Integrate both sides to solve for y''(x):

y''=C_1e^x+C_2e^x(x-1)+C_3

y''=C_1e^x+C_2xe^x+C_3

Integrate again to solve for y'(x):

y'=C_1e^x+C_2e^x(x-1)+C_3x+C_4

y'=C_1e^x+C_2xe^x+C_3x+C_4

And one last time to solve for y(x):

y=C_1e^x+C_2e^x(x-1)+\dfrac{C_3}2x^2+C_4x+C_5

\boxed{y(x)=C_1e^x+C_2e^x+C_3x^2+C_4x+C_5}
