Answer:

Ferns and mosses are alike in that they can reproduce sexually only- ((when a film of water covers the gametophyte)).

Explanation:

Mosses and fern both are non vascular seedless types of plants.

Ferns and mosses are alike in that they can reproduce sexually by releasing the millions of spores with the help of air and when a film of water is cover with sporangium.

Mosses and ferns reproduce sexually by producing sperm and eggs, the sperm is produced by the male gametophyte which should have the ability to swim so that it can reach the eggs, which are produced by the female gametophyte by swimming through a film of water for the fertilization.

After the fertilization sporophyte is formed, and it is dependent and connected on the gametophyte.

Spores are produced by the sporophyte, and it divide to produces gametophyte.

Thus that's why Ferns and mosses are alike and they can reproduce sexually in this way.

Explain how water's cohesive and adhesive properties are a result of its bonding among the atoms
vladimir1956 [14]

Water is a unique molecule which contains inter-molecular forces like vandar wall's forces and hydrogen bonding that results in extremely strong bonding forces among water molecules.

Cohesion and adhesion are the properties of water which refer to the fact that water molecules are not only very strongly attracted to water molecules but also to other polar molecules of any type.

This is the cohesive nature of the water which makes water a water drop and it is the adhesive nature of water due to which water takes the shape and available space in a glass or jar of water .

How these properties are a result of bonding between atoms?

Cohesive properties:

  • We are well aware of the fact that water is composed of one atom of oxygen and two atoms of Hydrogen.
  • The two hydrogen atoms align themselves in such a way that oxygen is in middle of them. Due to great electronegativity difference Oxygen gets a partial negative charge while Hydrogen atoms get partial positive charges.
  • Now one oxygen atom of one one water molecule attracts the partial positive charged hydrogen atom of another water molecule, and this attraction causes the bonding. This type of inter-molecular forces of atom gives water cohesive properties.

Adhesive properties:

  • If we talk about adhesive properties through which water is attracted to other materials of polar nature, these adhesive properties are also due to same nature of bonding.
  • Any polar compounds can easily get bonded with water due to polar nature of water molecules. You can see the attached figure for better understanding of bonding properties of water.

Hope it help!

A student did an experiment with two identical fish tanks, Tank 1 and Tank 2. About 20 ml water purifier was added to Tank 1 and
maw [93]

Answer:

a . Fish need 10 ml of water purifier to survive.

Explanation:

Fish need 10 ml of water purifier to survive because the data of 10 ml and 20 ml purifier is the same so it is recommended to use 10 ml purifier. First the data was same but by recording next week data, it shows slightly increase in the value of tank 2 while in the last week, both has the same value so we can concluded that by using 10 ml purifier is enough for the fish to survive.

Xavier has $23.50 in his savings account. He deposits $35 every week. His mother also deposits $20 into his account every time X
Marysya12 [62]
The answers are shown below:
In part A:
            coefficient = 20
             variable = c
             constant = 35 & 23.50
In part B:
           savings = 20 (3) +23.5+ 35+35+35 +35 +35 +35+35+35+35+35+35+35
           savings = $ 503.5
In part C:
            the new expression will be: 25c + 35 + 23.5
