I am attaching a sketch for reference, the quadrilateral that is formed is the red area ABDC. First of all, we have that the quadrilateral has all of its sides equal. We also know that the crosswalks are parallel in pairs, because they are both normal to the same two parallel lines (that define a road in our sketch). AB is parallel to CD this way and AC is parallel to BD (in Euclidean Geometry, two lines normal to the same line are parallel). Thus, ABDC is a parallelogram with equal sides. It is either a square or a rhombus. It cannot be a square since one of its angles is 30 degrees, thus it is a rhombus (also called an equilateral quadrilateral).

In 1987 the average price of gasoline was $0.94. Today the price of gas is about $3.00. What is the percent increase from 1987 t
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

219.15% (2DP)

Step-by-step explanation:

The difference between 0.94 and 3 is 2.06

Percentage change = (change in value/ original amount) X100.

(2.06/0.94) X 100

Which equals 219.15%

The price of gas has increased by 219.15%

If an average person in the United States throws away 4.5 × 10² g of trash per day and the number of persons is 3.2×10^6, then the mass of trash thrown away in United States would be 1.44 x 10^9 grams. This is obtained by multiplying the mass of trash thrown by one person to the number of persons in the U.S.

Person A can paint the neighbors house 2 times as fast as Person B. The year A and B worked together, it took them 2 days. How l
seraphim [82]

Answer:

A can paint in 3days and B in 6 days

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we were told

Person A can paint the neighbors house 2 times as fast as Person B

Let A only paint the neighbors house in X days

Let B only paint the neighbors house in 2X days

If we express the given information from the question in terms of fraction we have,

1/X + 1/2X = 1/2

3/2X = 1/2

if we cross multiply we have

6= 2X

X= 6/2

X= 3

Then A can paint the house in 3 days and B in 2(3)= 6days.
