I will underline the predicate nouns or pronouns and mark in bolds the predicate adjectives. Remember: predicate pronouns are pronouns that are present in the predicate; predicate nouns follow the verb (and are nouns or noun phrases that renames or offers more information about the subject); predicate adjectives follow a verb and modify the subject of the sentence.

1. Itzhak Perlman is a distinguished violinist. (the noun phrase "a distinguised violinist" gives us more information about the subject "I. Perlman")

2. Born in 1945, Perlman contracted polio at the age of four. (Mr. Perlman was born in 1945 and he also contracted polio)

3. Perlman is also an award-winning teacher and conductor. (this is a compound predicate adjective: he is both a teacher and a conductor)

4. His playing style is enthusiastic, expressive, and flawless. (this predicate adjective describes Mr. Perlman's playing style)

5. When my friends and I listen to him play, we are amazed at his talent. (I  think this is the sentence without subject complements)
