Saint Matthew from the Ebbo Gospel is made at a scriptorium in French monastery Hautvillers.
It is illuminated and also written there for Eboo of Rheims and he was a peasant and later on, under his wisdom, this monastery had become a major center of illumination and learning in Europe.
It has a style that is called ''the shivering style'' which is referring to nowadays of contemporaneous northern linear tradition.
