It was known as kharoshthi.

On the other hand, the Greeks also had an effect on India through their contacts, some of which are: leading to European contacts with the Indians, through trading routes created by Alexander of Macedonia. At the same time, it led to the unification of northwestern India. In other areas, the Greeks artistry was combined with the natives which resulted in the establishment of Gandhara School of art. While Indians were able to learn the art of making gold and silver coins as well.

Lastly, while there was the unification of India under the Mauryan Empire particularly under Chandragupta. The consequences were that during the rule of Ashoka, the grandson of Chandragupta, who was converted to Buddhism, he actively facilitated the expanse of the religion over the region of India and its reaches.
