Answer:

1. A possible answer is:

  • y = x + 1
  • y = x - 3

Another possible answer

  • y = 3x + 2
  • y = 3x - 8

Another possible answer

  • y = 2x + 1
  • y = 2x - 7

2. There is no solution because the the lines are parallel to each others but are located at different y-intercept.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. The lines are parallel to each others which means they must have the same slope.

So you can choose the value for any slope you want.

The lines are increasing so the slope has to be positive. I just chose my slope to be m=1; it can be any positive numbers.

I will be using the slope intercept formula to plug in my values:

    y = mx + b

Where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept value.

The first line is above the x-axis so it must have a positive b value for the y-intercept. I let the value be b=1 giving me:

  • y = x + 1

The second line is below the x-axis alot more than the first line, so the y-intercept must be negative. I just pick a random negative value and it was b=-3 giving me:

  • y = x - 3

2.

The lines are parallel to each other, which means they will never touch each other. A solution to a system of equation can only exist if the line touch each other. Parallel lines that are separated at different points will never touch each other therefore there is no solution.

What is the value of y?
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

y = 40

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets make an equation to represent the sum of the angles:

We know that the sum of angles of triangles equals 180 degrees. So based on this knowledge, the equation is :

2y + y + 10 + 50 = 180

Now we simplify:

2y + y = 3y

10 + 50 = 60

So our new equation is 3y + 60 = 180

Now all we have to do is simplify:

3y + 60 = 180

3y + 60 -60 = 180 - 60

3y = 120

3y / 3 = 120 / 3

y = 40

So the answer is 40 hope this helped

Canarie Manufacturing produces snow shovels. The selling price per snow shovel is $29.00. There is no beginning inventory. Costs
Fantom [35]

Answer:

Value of ending inventory = $97,650

Step-by-step explanation:

Full costing is a costing method that consider all the costs including all variable and fixed costs in determining the cost of producing products or services.

From the question, we have the following:

Total variable manufacturing costs per unit = $11.00

Fixed manufacturing overhead per year = $233,550

Number of snow shovels produced during the year = 51,900

Number of snow shovels sold during the year = 46,500

Therefore, we have:

Total variable manufacturing costs incurred during the year = Total variable manufacturing costs per unit * Number of shovels produced during the year = $11.00 * 51,900 = $570,900

Based on full costing, we have:

Total cost of producing snow shovel during the year = Fixed manufacturing overhead per year + Total variable manufacturing costs incurred during the year = $233,550 + $570,900 = $804,450

Production cost per unit = Total cost of producing snow shovel during the year / Number of snow shovels produced during the year = $804,450 / 51,900 = $15.50

Number of ending inventory = Number of snow shovels produced during the year - Number of snow shovels sold during the year = 51,900 - 46,500 = 6,300

Value of ending inventory = Number of ending inventory * Production cost per unit = 6,300 * $15.50 = $97,650

Olivia and her 2 friends are sharing 5 1/4 gallons of paint for their rooms. They have the same size room and therefore want to
sashaice [31]

Each friend will get 1\frac{3}{4}\ gallons of paint

Step-by-step explanation:

The total paint will be divided among 3 friends by dividing the total paint by 3.

So,

Given

Total\ paint= 5\frac{1}{4}\ gallons = \frac{21}{4}\ gallons\\Total\ friends=3\\Share\ of\ each\ friend = \frac{\frac{21}{4}}{3}\\=\frac{21}{4}*\frac{1}{3}\\=\frac{21}{12}\\=\frac{7}{4}\\=1\frac{3}{4}

Each friend will get 1\frac{3}{4}\ gallons of paint
