Which vitamin is synthesized in the intestine by bacteria?
Black_prince [1.1K]

The correct answer is option a, that is, Vitamin K.

Vitamin K is primarily produced by the bacteria in the large intestine. The dietary sources include the green photosynthetic parts of the plants. The vitamin plays an essential role in the development of many blood-clotting factors in the liver, and their deficit can result in bleeding disorders.

There are two sources of vitamin K; this includes phylloquinone or vitamin K1, which is mainly found in green leafy vegetables and menaquinone or vitamin K2 that is produced by some kinds of intestinal bacteria.

Why are frameshift mutations likely to cause more problems than a point mutation
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

Point mutations occur when only one nucleotide is altered affecting only one location or point of the DNA strand.

While Frameshift mutations are caused by the deletion or insertion of a number of nucleotides.

These altered nucleotides affect the triple nature of gene expression disturbing the whole reading frame. All the codons after mutation are different translating a completely different protein. That's why frameshift mutations cause more problems than point mutations.
