Answer:

So let's say that the width is w. The length(L) is 4 meters greater than 3 times the width. 3 times the width would be 3w, and then 4 meters greater than that would be 3w+4. You have two widths and two lengths to a rectangle that must add up to equal 72. So 2w + 2L =72. But remember that one L equals 3w+4

2(w) + 2(3w+4) = 72

2w+6w+8=72

8w+8=72

8w=64

w=8

L=3w+4

L=3(8)+4

L=24+4

L=28

So the dimensions are 8 meters by 28 meters

To check 2(8) + 2(28) = 72

Hope I helped someone,

Adrian

Answer:

The length of the Sally's garden  is  28 m and width is  8 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, let the width of the garden  =  k meters

So, the length of the garden  =  (3 k + 4) meters

Perimeter of the garden = 72 m

Now, the Perimeter of the Rectangle =  2 (LENGTH + WIDTH)

⇒  2(  k + (3 k + 4)) = 72

or, 2 ( 4 k + 4)  = 72

⇒ 8 k +  8 =  72

or, 8 k = 72 - 8 = 64

⇒ k = 64/8  = 8

or, the Width of the garden = k = 8 meters

and the Length of the garden =  (3k + 4) = ( 3 x 8 + 4) = 28 meters

So, the length of the Sally's garden  is  28 m and width is  8 m.

Bess [88]

The answer is true because there is infinite numbers of points in the region.

The above statement is one of the Euclid’s five postulates.

Euclid was a Greek mathematician also known as the father of the geometry. The second postulate of Euclid is that a finite straight line may be extended indefinitely in a straight line.
