I supposed π ≈ 3.14 and we have A = 490.87 km²:

Area(A) is: A = π × r² or 3.14 × r² = 490.87 →

r² = 490.87/3.14 → r² = 156,32 → r = √156,32 → r = 12.5

But diameter (d) is: d = 2 × r → d = 2 × 12.5 →d = 50 km

xYou volunteer to help drive children at a charity event to the zoo, but you can fit only 6 of the 16 children present in your
brilliants [131]

There are 8008 groups in total, in other to drive the children

How to determine the number of groups?

From the question, we have

 • Total number of children, n = 16
 • Numbers to children at once, r = 6

The number of group of children that could be carried at once is calculated using the following combination formula

Total = ⁿCᵣ

Where

n = 16 and r = 6

Substitute the known values in the above equation

Total = ¹⁶C₆

Apply the combination formula

ⁿCᵣ = n!/(n - r)!r!

So, we have

Total = 16!/10!6!

Evaluate

Total = 8008

Hence, the number of groups is 8008

Solve for x
-3(x + 4) - 2 = -2(x - 5)
x= -4
x = -11/5
x = 24
x = -24
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

-24

Step-by-step explanation:

-3 (x + 4) - 2 = -2 (x - 5)

-3x - 12 - 2 = -2x + 10

-3x + 2x = 10 + 12 + 2

-x = 24

x = -24

Luke invited 20 more boys than girls to his birthday party. However, only ¾ of the boys and ⅔ of the girls came. Exactly 19 of L
sveta [45]

Answer:

68

Step-by-step explanation:

Let:

Number of girls invited = x

Number of boys = x +20

3/4 of boy showed up

2/3 of girls showed up

Exactly 19 did not show up

Therefore, we could say:

Fraction of boys that didn't show up = 1 - 3/4 = 1/4

Fraction of girls that didn't show up = 1 - 2/3 = 1/3

That is,

[1/4 *(x + 20)] + [1/3*x] = 19

[(x + 20) / 4] + x /3 = 19

(3(x + 20) + 4x) / 12 = 19

3x + 60 + 4x = 228

7x = 228 - 60

7x = 168

x = 168 / 7

x = 24

Number of girls, x = 24

Number of boys, x + 20 = 24 + 20 = 44

Total friends invited = (24 + 44) = 68
