In order for high force crossbridges to form in contracting skeletal muscle, calcium must a. bind to calmodulin to phosphorylate
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

e. bind to troponin which moves the tropomyosin.

Explanation:

Troponin (Tn) is a protein complex composed of three different proteins: troponin C (TnC), troponin I (TnI), and troponin T (TnT). This complex is found both in skeletal muscles and cardiac muscles, where TnC attaches calcium ions through four and three calcium ion-binding sites, respectively. When a muscle is relaxed, Tn attaches to tropomyosin to prevent muscle contraction. During muscle contraction, calcium channels open and cytosolic calcium ions bind to TnC, thereby Tn changes its conformation and moves the tropomyosin. This process relieves the inhibition of the interaction between actin and myosin filaments, which makes muscle contraction possible.

A damages axon in the PNS may be able to regenerate only if the cell body is intact. Why do you think that the cell body must be
Sonbull [250]

Answer:

Explanation:

The central nervous system (CNS) does not have capacity to repair itself but, the PNS or the peripheral nervous system can repair and regenerate itself. The PNS can regenerate its damaged axon only when its cell body or cyton and its neurilemma are intact. The proximal end of the cyton has growth cones. The axon grows from the cones.

After cell division (mitosis) how does the genetic code of the newly
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

Chromosomes were first named by cytologists viewing dividing cells through a microscope. The modern definition of a chromosome now includes the function of heredity and the chemical composition. A chromosome is a DNA molecule that carries all or part of the hereditary information of an organism. In eukaryotic cells, the DNA is packaged with proteins in the nucleus, and varies in structure and appearance at different parts of the cell cycle.

Explanation:

Cells reproduce genetically identical copies of themselves by cycles of cell growth and division. The cell cycle diagram on the left shows that a cell division cycle consists of 4 stages:

G1 is the period after cell division, and before the start of DNA replication. Cells grow and monitor their environment to determine whether they should initiate another round of cell division.

S is the period of DNA synthesis, where cells replicate their chromosomes.

G2 is the period between the end of DNA replication and the start of cell division. Cells check to make sure DNA replication has successfully completed, and make any necessary repairs.

M is the actual period of cell division, consisting of prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and cytokinesis.

Flura [38]

Answer: The correct answer is -

C) Mutualism.

Explanation:

Mutualism is a type long term biological relationship between two organisms belonging to same or different species in which both are benefitted from one another.

For example - E.coli bacteria, present large intestines of human, gets food and place to live in our digestive tract. In return, the bacteria produce vitamin K, which make it harder for other disease causing bacteria to establish in our system.
