The fable Vanity of The Rat portrays Koreans tradition of marrying off their daughter with a man from a respectable family. This story shows us that Mr. and Mrs. Rat was eager to arrange their lovely daughter’s marriages.  They thought that when their daughter has a rich husband, all of the family members become more powerful and respected. Unfortunately, Mr. Sun, Mr. Cloud, and Mr. Wind as the candidates understand that Mr. Rat is a greedy and arrogant person. So, they were not interesting to choose their wife from the family of Rats.

Korean families have a tradition to arrange their children's wedding. In this story the Korean family is shown as gold diggers as they are looking for an eligible husband for their daughter, but they don't pay attention to what their daughter wants.

The father rat is very selfish and adamant to his decision. He should ask his daughter about her preference and money is always not the only factor that can keep you happy.
