<u>Explanation:</u>

A debate discusses an issue where the participants either present their views in favour or against the issue.  For instance, if  the issue is ‘giving Homework to students’. The participants can either speak in favour stating ‘homework should be given’ or against stating ‘homework should not be given’.

The points presented should be heard carefully in order to reach a conclusion.  A listener who listens carefully weighing the arguments in his mind can decide the conclusion.  He can be an active participant expressing his point of view, members of jury or the audience.
