do you think that the US would have become a world power if the articles of confederation had remained the basis of government?
devlian [24]
No, I believe that multiple weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation would have hurt America in time. One of the biggest problems was the lack of detail and specific attributes that the Constitution brings from long discussion and debates over what is best for the country. America needed to strengthen it's central government if it wanted to get anywhere, so we may not have become so powerful if we left the majority of the power in the state's hands. Another lacking component was the fact that we had no Executive branch to enforce Congress' laws and no National court to determine the meaning of the laws. Another example is the making of one currency for the entire country. These examples and more could have hurt America if they wouldn't have written the Constitution.

1-what trade first drew Americans to the West?
Rainbow [258]

Answer:

Fur trade

Pioneer settlers were sometimes pulled west because they wanted to make a better living. Others received letters from friends or family members who had moved west. These letters often told about a good life on the frontier. The biggest factor that pulled pioneers west was the opportunity to buy land.

Originally Spain, Great Britain, Russia, and the United States claimed the territory. In 1819, under terms of the Transcontinental Treaty, Spain ceded its claims to the territory to the United States.

How did the United States respond to Iraqi aggression?
Sophie [7]

Answer:

Iraq invaded Kuwait on August 2, 1990. In response to this aggression, the United States, along with a coalition of allied countries, started the Gulf War against Saddam Hussein's regime.

Explanation:

The Gulf War began when Iraq under Saddam Hussein captured neighboring Kuwait to secure oil supplies in August 1990. This meant that the UN intervened and that the United States, with President George H.W. Bush at the helm, with military force, defeated the Iraqi forces after a lengthy and preliminary bombing campaign from the air, which began on January 17, 1991. The American losses were historically few for a land war, while the Iraqi ones were significant.
