Which phrase did Mark Twain use to describe the Gilded Age? A. a time of quiet reflection B. a period of ridiculous excess C. an
drek231 [11]
Mark Twain would have most likely used the phrase as B) a period of ridiculous excess. During this period there was rapid economic expansion and growth, but this did not extend to the working poor. The wealth expansion also created very corrupt politics. These factors came to define this period as the "Gilded Age." Twain was very critical of this period and its economic and political characteristics.

Help Plzz!!How do you think the framers of the Constitution would respond to the presidency's expanded powers?
slava [35]

The framers of the constitution intended that the Congress would play a major part in the American democracy. They left the president’s power without many boundaries, counting on check and balances as a power to hold the presidency. The framers of the constitution didn’t want the president to be a slave of the Congress, this is the reason probably the framers would be in favor of the presidency’s expanded powers, they wanted a balance between a free man who is stronger than governors but not as free as a monarch.
