Answer: 131,400$

Step-by-step explanation:

The sale for first  month is $500.

The sale increases by $10 each month, as modelled by the equation:

a_k=500+(k-1)10

where, k = 1 (first month)

k = 2 (second month)

.... and so on.

we have to calculate the sale for the first 10 years, that means for 10*12 = 120 months (1 year = 12 months)

Total sales = ∑ a_k

∑ a_k = ∑ (500+(k-1)10)

= 500k + ∑ (10k - 10)

= 500k + 10∑k - 10k

= 490k + 10∑k

= 490k + 10 {k*(k+1)/2}

= 490k + 5{k*(k+1)}

= 490k + 5k^2 + 5k

= 5k^2 + 495k

∴∑ a_k = 5k^2 + 495k

For calculating the total sales of 10 years, we will put the value of k = 120 (120th month after the first month)

= 5*(120*120) + 495*120

= 72,000 + 59, 400

= 131,400$

Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

$896

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Charge of 1 yard for each custom-made banner=$28

Length of 1 piece=15 yards

Length of another piece=2 yards

We have to find that how much money payed by Ms.Gill for all three banners.

According to question

Cost of 15 yards long banner=$420

Cost of 2 piece of 15 yards long banner==$840

Cost of 2 yards long banner==$56

Total cost of 3 piece of banners=840+56=$896

Hence, Ms gill pay for all three banners=$896

Tia and Ken sold snack bars and magazine subscriptions for the school fundraiser. Tia sold 16 snack bars and 4 magazine subscrip
Aliun [14]

Answer:

The value of the snack bar is $ 2 and that of the magazine subscription is 25 $

Step-by-step explanation:

We have a system of two equations and two unknowns, which would be the following:

let "x" be the cost of the snack bar

Let "y" be the cost of the magazine subscription

16 * x + 4 * y = 132

20 * x + 6 * y = 190 => y = (190 - 20 * x) / 6

replacing:

16 * x + 4 * (190 - 20 * x) / 6 = 132

16 * x + 126.66 - 13.33 * x = 132

2.66 * x = 132 - 126.66

x = 5.34 / 2.66

x = 2

for "y":

y = (190 - 20 * 2) / 6

y = 25

Which means that the value of the snack bar is $ 2 and that of the magazine subscription is 25 $
