Answer:

probability that he or she will answer at least 4 problems correctly = 0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

probability that he or she will answer at least 4 problems correctly is given as;

P (at least 4 correctly) = P (exactly 4 correctly) + P (all 5 correctly)

Since there are 10 problems. 4 is from the 7 problems chosen and 1 is from the 3 problems we can't figure out. Thus, P(exactly 4 correctly) = 7C4 x 3C1

Thus, P (at least 4 correctly) = [ (7C4) x (3C1) ] / (10C5)] + [(7C5)/(10C5)]

= [(35 x3)/252 ] + [21/252]

= [ 105/252 ] + [ 21/252 ]

= 126 / 252

= 0.5

What are the solutions to the system of circle and line when the circle is given by x²+y²=9, and the line is given by y=4?
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

√7i = x

Step-by-step explanation:

x²+y²=9;

y² = 9-x²

y = √(9-x²)

As line is given by y= 4, the solution of the system is:

4 = √(9-x²)

16 = 9-x²

7 = -x²

-7 = x²

√-7 = x

As √-7 doen't exist, you should use i = √-1;

Thus,

√7i = x

100 pounds of chocolate is packaged into boxes each containing 1^1/4 pounds of chocolate. Each box is then sold for $1.75. What
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

$140

Step-by-step explanation:

Total Amount of chocolate = 100 Pounds

Amount of chocolate in one box = 1 1/4 Pounds = 5/4 Pounds

Number of boxes = 100/(5/4) = 80 boxes

Cost of one box = $1.75

Total selling price = 80×1.75 = 140

The total selling price for all the boxes of chocolate is $140

In which two locations do tropHarry just got a new job that requires him to transfer from a tropical climate to a continental cl
pshichka [43]

Answer:

B. a warm coat, because the winters will be cold

Step-by-step explanation:

Continental climates are notable for extreme weather conditions. When it is hot, it is extremely hot and when it is cold, it is extremely cold. Tropical climates on the other hand are known to always have hot weather conditions.

Since Harry is already used to the tropical climate which largely features hot temperatures, we assume that he already has suitable clothing for such weather conditions. So, in addition to that, Harry would need warm clothing for the cold winters which he would experience in the continental climate. So, Harry would need a warm coat because the winter will be cold.
