When two straight lines intersect, the pairs of nonadjacent angles in opposite posi-tions are known as vertical angles.

If a segment AB is intersected by a transversal labeled t, then ∠1 and ∠3 and ∠2 and ∠4 are vertically angles formed by the transversal t on the segment AB.

Angles ∠1 and ∠2 can be described as adjacent and supplementary angles, so

m\angle 1+m\angle 2=180^{\circ}.

Angles ∠3 and ∠2 can be also described as adjacent and supplementary angles, so

m\angle 3+m\angle 2=180^{\circ}.

Subtract from the first equation the second equation:

m\angle 1+m\angle 2-(m\angle 3+m\angle 2)=180^{\circ}-180^{\circ},\\ m\angle 1-m\angle 3=0,\\ m\angle 1=m\angle 3.

Similarly you can prove that m\angle 2=m\angle 4.

A family is building a circular fountain in the backyard. The yard is rectangular and measures 10x by 15 and the fountain is goi
Ira Lisetskai [31]
The correct question is
A family is building a circular fountain in the backyard. The yard is rectangular and measures 10x by 15x and the fountain is going to be circular with a radius of 4x. Once the fountain is built, what will be the area of the remaining yard?

Step  1
find the area of rectangular yard (A1)
A1=(10*x)*15*x=150*x² units²

Step 2
find the area of the circular <span>fountain (A2)
A2=pi*r</span>²---------> pi*(4x)²=16*pi*x²

Step 3
find <span> the area of the remaining yard (A3)

A3=A1-A2----------> 150*x</span>²-16*pi*x²----> x²*[150-16*pi]----> 2*x²*[75-8*pi]

the answer is the option A)
<span> 2x</span>²<span> (75-8pi )</span>

Chang will rent a car for the weekend. He can choose one of two plans. The first plan has an initial fee of $50 and costs an add
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer:

  • 450 miles
  • $117.50

Step-by-step explanation:

The difference in fixed cost is $9; the difference in per-mile cost is $0.02. The difference in per-mile cost will equal the difference in fixed cost for a distance of ...

   $9.00/($0.02/mi) = 450 mi

At that distance, the rental cost is ...

  $50 +450×$0.15 = $50 +67.50 = $117.50

Both plans will cost $117.50 for 450 miles of driving.

Ymorist [56]

use the formula 2πr

  • 106.76
  • 300.96
  • 2×3.14×(1/2)×39 = 122.46
  • 78.5

the c bit I did the whole process cuz the diameter is given and for the d bit i thought what you were trying to say is 25 diameter.

hope it helps and don't forget to put the units wherever necessary.!!!!
