Sensory adaptation refers to a process in which the different changes that take place in the sensitivity of sensory receptors occur according to their relation to the stimulus. It is said that all senses have sensory adaptation.
However, some experimental psychologists consider that the only sense that does not experience this kind of phenomenon is the sense of pain. All sensory systems can adapt, as well as to detect constant changes that occur in the environment.
