If you're trying to find x first expand the brackets by multiplying whats on the outside; 3 by everything inside the bracket giving you 3x-3=6 then balance it by adding 3 to one side and doing the same on the other side to get 3x=9 then divide by 3 on both sides to give you an answer of x=3 hope that helps ^^;

Multiply 3 times x which gives you 3x then multiply 3 times -1 which gives you -3. Now you have an equation 3x-3=6. This is a two step equation so you have to add 3 (inverse operation) to 6 which gives you 9. Now you divide 9/3 which equals 3. The answer is 3
