The ultimate goal of the United States in their intervention in Mexico in 1914 was to have a neighbor that is stable, that they will be able to influence and control to a certain level, and protect their economic and political interest.

The intervention of the United States was a very variable and very controversial. They did not stick with one side to support, but instead they were changing sides, usually supporting the person in power, except when the French intervened too.

Also, the USA openly threatened Mexico that it will use military power in order to protect its interests and its citizens that own businesses and property in the country.

Answer:

The right answer is:

c. Wealthy merchants who could spur economic growth in the colonies.

Explanation:

In the 18th century, Great Britain administered its colonies under a system or mercantilism that aimed at the economic benefit of the metropolis. By mid-century, there was a society with increased living standards and rising demands of comfort and new consumer products that reflected social status. Constant exploration, new settlements and trade provided new economic opportunitities. At some moment, beyond the traditional settlement of poor immigrants from the British islands and other parts of Europe, the colonial authorities encouraged the migration of rich people to take advantage of opportunities of growing trade and in farming in new lands.

Write a paragraph describing how the u.s. government managed the economy during world war i and the economic effects of that man
Gnom [1K]
The US government played a huge role in the American economy during World War I. One way in which they controlled the economy was through the War Industry Board. This government agency monitored the production of war related goods and raw materials as well as being able to tell companies how much of a product they needed to make. This agency even had the power to fix prices if they saw it as necessary.

Another group that was critical during this time was the war labor board. This agency worked to settle labor disputes between business owners and workers. This agency was critical, as any strikes by labors in important industries could greatly affect the resources available for the US military.

Lastly, the US food administration was another key government group that helped during the war effort. This agency focused on increasing agricultural output (aka food) and reducing the amount of waste. This group used advertisements to encourage American citizens to cut back on food such as bread so that there were more resources available for the war effort.
