Find the equation that has 2, 1, and -1 as roots

Mathematics

Answer: (x-2)(x-1)(x+1)

Step-by-step explanation: Roots are where the graph hits the x-axis. So just like if you had the equation (example) x^2 + 4x + 4 and you were to factor it out to get (x+2)(x+2) you could then set x+2=0 to get the root x=-2. Think of your problem like as if someone has already done the factoring for you. Now all you have to remember is that the answer will have the opposite sign with in the parentheses because its like you’re adding or subtracting it to the x to get zero on other side of the equal sign... x=3 ——> x-3 = 0

Tema [17]
Let's say that x represents hours that Elizabeth volunteers over 1 week. Katie volunteers x+3 and Siobhan x-1 hours per week. The equation that arises from condition in text is:
3*(x+3) = 3*(x + x-1)
x+3 = 2*x - 1
2*x - x= 3+1
x=4.

Elizabeth volunteers    7 hours
Katie volunteers          4 hours
Siobhan volunteers     3 hours

Stan worked 4 years less than Marco.This year Stan has worked 29 years.If b is how long Marco worked, the equation b - 4 = 29 re
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Answer:

Add 4 on both sides.

In the equation there is a -4.

If -4+4=0, that is how you would get rid of the -4.

But, you need to add 4 to 29 to really get rid of the -4.

So, 29+4 is 33.

b=33

A certain freely falling object, released from rest, requires 1.50 s to travel the last 30.0 m before it hit the ground. a.Find
Lyrx [107]
A.)
<span>s= 30m
u = ? ( initial velocity of the object )
a = 9.81 m/s^2 ( accn of free fall )
t = 1.5 s
s = ut + 1/2 at^2
\[u = \frac{ S - 1/2 a t^2 }{ t }\]
\[u = \frac{ 30 - ( 0.5 \times 9.81 \times 1.5^2) }{ 1.5 } \]
\[u = 12.6 m/s\]
</span>
b.)
<span>s = ut + 1/2 a t^2
u = 0 ,
s = 1/2 a t^2
\[s = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times a \times t ^{2}\]
\[s = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times 9.81 \times \left( \frac{ 12.6 }{ 9.81 } \right)^{2}\]
\[s = 8.0917...\]
\[therfore total distance = 8.0917 + 30 = 38.0917.. = 38.1 m \] </span>
