where b is the base and h is the height .

First we need to convert the mixed fraction to improper fraction, and on doing so we will get

$Area,A= 8 \frac{15}{16} = \frac{143}{16} \\ Base, b = 5 \frac{1}{2} = \frac{11}{2}$

Substituting the values of A and b, we will get

$143/16=(1/2)(11/2)h \\ 143/16=(11/4)h \\ 13/4=h=> h = 3\frac{1}{4}feet$
