1,150ft + 35ft = 1,185ft

The reason you wouldnt subtract would be that you cant have negative 35 ft. You add the two heights together to produce your answer.

There are 3 red and 8 green balls in a bag. If you randomly choose balls one at a time, with replacement, what is the probabilit
Kaylis [27]

So, the total number of balls is 11. We want to pick 2 red balls and 1 green ball. WLOG (since order doesnt matter here), we can say he picks red, green, red. That means on his first pick, he has a \frac{3}{11} chance of picking the red ball, and he places it back in the bag. The probability of picking a green ball is \frac{8}{11}, and then he places the ball back in the bag. The probability of picking the last red ball is the same as the last red ball example, and we simply multiply the probabilities together as per the multiplication rule to get:

\frac{3}{11}\frac{3}{11}\frac{8}{11}=\frac{3*3*8}{11^3}=\frac{72}{1331}

Now, without replacement the order does matter. He picks a red ball, a red ball then a green ball. The probability of picking the first red ball is\frac{2}{11}, and the probability of picking the second red ball is \frac{1}{10} and the probability of picking the green ball is\frac{1}{9}. We want to multiply thm again, as per the multiplication rule like the last problem.

\frac{2}{11}*\frac{1}{10}*\frac{1}{9}=\frac{1}{11*5*9}=\frac{1}{495}

Describe the sample space for each of these experiments (a) A coin is tossed and a single die is rolled. (b) A paper cup is toss
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

a) S={(head,1),(head,2),(head,3),(head,4),(head,5),(head,6),(tails,1),(tails,2),(tails,3),(tails,4),(tails,5),(tails,6)}

b) S={top,bottom,side}

c) S={(Ace of diamonds),(Two of diamonds),(Three of diamonds),(Four of diamonds),(Five of diamonds),(Six of diamonds),(Seven of diamonds), (Eight of diamonds),(Nine of diamonds),(Ten of diamonds), (Jack of diamonds), (Queen of diamonds), (King of diamonds), (Ace of hearts),(Two of hearts),(Three of hearts),(Four of hearts),(Five of hearts),(Six of hearts),(Seven of hearts), (Eight of hearts), (Nine of hearts),(Ten of hearts), (Jack of hearts), (Queen of hearts),(King of hearts),(Ace of clubs),(Two of clubs),(Three of clubs),(Four of clubs),(Five of clubs),(Six of clubs),(Seven of clubs), (Eight of clubs), (Nine of clubs),(Ten of clubs), (Jack of clubs),(Queen of clubs),(King of clubs),(Ace of spades),(Two of spades),(Three of spades),(Four of spades),(Five of spades),(Six of spades),(Seven of spades),(Eight of spades), (Nine of spades),(Ten of spades),(Jack of spades),(Queen of spades),(King of spades)}

Step-by-step explanation:

The sample space is all the possible outcomes from each experiment:

a) The sample has the pairs of the result of the coin (head or tails) and the dice (a number from 1 to 6):

S={(head,1),(head,2),(head,3),(head,4),(head,5),(head,6),(tails,1),(tails,2),(tails,3),(tails,4),(tails,5),(tails,6)}

b) A paper cup can land in three different ways, on its top, bottom or  side:

S={top,bottom,side}

c) The sample space is all the cards in the deck:

S={(Ace of diamonds),(Two of diamonds),(Three of diamonds),(Four of diamonds),(Five of diamonds),(Six of diamonds),(Seven of diamonds), (Eight of diamonds),(Nine of diamonds),(Ten of diamonds), (Jack of diamonds), (Queen of diamonds), (King of diamonds), (Ace of hearts),(Two of hearts),(Three of hearts),(Four of hearts),(Five of hearts),(Six of hearts),(Seven of hearts), (Eight of hearts), (Nine of hearts),(Ten of hearts), (Jack of hearts), (Queen of hearts),(King of hearts),(Ace of clubs),(Two of clubs),(Three of clubs),(Four of clubs),(Five of clubs),(Six of clubs),(Seven of clubs), (Eight of clubs), (Nine of clubs),(Ten of clubs), (Jack of clubs),(Queen of clubs),(King of clubs),(Ace of spades),(Two of spades),(Three of spades),(Four of spades),(Five of spades),(Six of spades),(Seven of spades),(Eight of spades), (Nine of spades),(Ten of spades),(Jack of spades),(Queen of spades),(King of spades)}

Nadia needs 2/5 cup of orange juice for a punch recipe. She will double the recipe to make punch for a party. Which statement is
adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

There's not a lot to go on with the details provided in the question, but based on all you said, if there isn't more to the question, then the true statement is the fact that Nadia needs 2/5 cup of orange juice for punch recipe.

Twice that amount is 4/5, and logically, that can't suffice in a party, except it's a party of 3, maybe 5 people. I'm assuming the people in the party would be much more than that. Makes the fraction impossible
