In the early years of America, why was the education of children not much of a priority?
Juli2301 [7.4K]
Not many people worried about their child's education because children would already work jobs. Boys would usually help their fathers with work and girls would help their mothers with house work and (when they reach the age) get married. But when children were not allowed to work jobs at a young age they would start attending school. Also their were not many schools and they wouldn't get funded much so they were not in the best condition.

What was the Tularosa ditch war all about?
andrew11 [14]
The Tularosa ditch war was about water. The settlers of New Mexico were at war because water was always an important and not easily obtained commodity in New Mexico because of the immense heat and drought. People who were original inhabitants were at war with the English population that was moving in because water was scarce as it was without them.

What is Modernism and how is it different from postmodernism? Can you give an example of each? Thanks!!
Vilka [71]

Explanation:

The term "Postmodern" begins to make sense if you understand what "Modernism" refers to. In this case, "Modernism" usually refers to Neo-Classical, Enlightenment assumptions concerning the role reason, or rationality, or scientific reasoning, play in guiding our understanding of the human condition and, in extreme cases of Postmodern theory, nature itself. Postmodernism basically challenges those basic assumptions.
