Differences

Davis was from the Democratic Party and Lincoln from the Republican Party.
Davis was president of the Confederate states and Lincoln of the United States.
Davis was part of the Chamber of Representatives before becoming president. Lincoln did not have a position in the House of Representatives.
Lincoln is known as a leader who found it very difficult to control his people and subordinates, specifically the members of his cabinet. The Republicans did not show much respect to Lincoln for not being able to take any position in the Senate or the Cabinet before his presidency. In contrast, Davis is known as the leader who easily created enemies for the state and preferred to fight all oppositions by force instead of concentrating on making the government more stable. As a graduate of West Point, he really wanted to settle things quickly with his army.
Jefferson Davis has more political and military experience than Abraham Lincoln.
In the Civil War, Jefferson Davis was the head of the Confederation, while Abraham Lincoln was the leader of the Union.
According to several historians, Davis was a less effective leader than Lincoln.
Lincoln was reelected as president while Davis was captured and accused of treason, but was released two years later.
Lincoln reached the rank of captain. While Jefferson Davis reached the rank of Major General and fought in the Mexican-American War.
Lincoln was killed while Davis died of Bronchitis.
