There is a difference between hearing and listening. Hearing is one of our five senses, the ability to perceive sounds by detecting vibrations and changes in the pressure of the surrounding medium, usually thanks to our ears. Hearing something does not mean that we are listening, though. None of the listed components are a component of hearing, but recalling and providing feedback are parts of listening, which consists of five stages: receiving, understanding, evaluating, remembering, and responding. Many aspects of our lives rely on our ability to listen.
