Answer:

Explanation:

Given that,

Charge density is  λ = 12 nC/m

And radius 3cm

r=0.03m.

The charge density of a along a circular arc is given as

λ= Q/πr

Then, Q=πrλ

Q=π×0.03×12×10^-9

Q=1.131×10^-9 C

Q=1.131 nC

Then, electric field along x axis is symmetrical and if cancels out

Now, Ey is in the negative direction

Electric field is given as,

Ey=-2kQ/πr²

K is constant =9×10^9Nm²/C²

Ey=-2×9×10^9×1.131×10^-9/(π ×0.03²)

Ey=7200 N/C.

The direction is negative direction of y axis, check attachment for diagram.

b. Electric potential at the origin is given as

V=Ed

d=r=0.03

V=7200×0.03

V=216V

A 0.42 kg shuffleboard disk is initially at rest when a player uses a cue to increase its speed to 4.2 m/s at constant accelerat
MariettaO [177]

Answer

given,

mass of the shuffleboard disk = 0.42 kg

speed of the cue is increased to = 4.2 m/s

acceleration takes over 2 m then acceleration is zero.

the disk additionally slide to 12 m

final speed of disk = 0 m/s

a) increase in thermal energy

\Delta E_t = \dfrac{1}{2}m(v_1^2-v_2^2)

\Delta E_t = \dfrac{1}{2}\times 0.42 \times (4.2^2-v_2^2)

\Delta E_t = 3.704\ J

b)  \Delta E_t = F_f.d

F_f is the frictional force

     3.704= 12.F

      F_f = 0.308\ N

increase in thermal energy for entire movement of 14 m

     \Delta E_t = 0.308\times 14

     \Delta E_t =4.312 \ J

c)  Work done on the disk by the cue

  W = \Delta KE + \Delta E_{t}

  W = \dfrac{1}{2}\times 0.42 \times (4.2^2-0^2)+ F_f \times d

  W = 3.704+ 0.308 \times 2

   W = 3.704 + 0.616

   W  = 4.32 J

The intensity of sunlight incident on the surface of a solar panel on your roof is 1000 W/m^2. Calculate the sunlight energy abs
melisa1 [442]

Answer:

8.64 x 10^7 J

Explanation:

Intensity of sunlight, I = 1000 W/m^2

Length of panel, L = 6 m

Width of panel, W = 4 m

Area of the panel, A = L x W = 6 x 4 = 24 m^2

time, t = 1 hour = 3600 second

Energy = Intensity x area of panel x time

E = 1000 x 24 x 3600 = 8.64 x 10^7 J

A piano string having a mass per unit length equal to 5.20 10-3 kg/m is under a tension of 1 450 N. Find the speed with which a
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

The wave in the string travels with a speed of 528.1 m/s

Explanation:

Wave speed of sound waves in a string, v, is related to the Tension in the string, T, and the mass per unit length, μ, by the relation,

v = √(T/μ)

μ = 5.20 × 10⁻³ kg/m

T = 1450N

v = √(1450/0.0052) = 528.1 m/s

Hope this Helps!!!
