If f(x)=2x−1, show that f(f(x))=4x−3. Find f(f(f(x))).
Allushta [10]

Answer: f(f(f(x))  =  8x - 7

Step-by-step explanation:

f(f(x)) means that we are evaluating f(x) with itself, then if f(x) = 2x - 1

f(f(x)) = 2*f(x) - 1 = 2*(2x - 1) - 1 = 4x - 2 - 1 = 4x - 3

f(f(x)) = 4x - 3

Then, we have f(f(f(x)) = 4*f(x) - 3

= 4*(2x - 1) - 3 = 8x - 4 - 3 =  8x - 7

Please my last question I need help<br> Please
nevsk [136]

Answer:

to graph this, you will need to plot points on the graph

the x-axis as stated in the instructions will be the distance in miles

the y-axis will be the time in minutes

for every 1 mile Gloria bikes, it takes her 5 minutes

so that gives us our first point on the graph (1,5)

what about 2 miles? we would double the amount of minutes spent and that would take Gloria 10 minutes to bike 2 miles

that is another point on our graph (2,10)

same goes for the rest of the points, 3 miles would be equal to 15 minutes etc.

I have attached a graph that should be similar to what you can come up with, I put the y-axis (minutes) in intervals of 5, and the x-axis from 1-5

What is the quotient and remainder of 18 divided by 867?
SVEN [57.7K]
I hope I can be of assistance today!

\mathrm{Divide}\:18\:\mathrm{by}\:867\:\mathrm{to\:get}\:0 \ \textgreater \  \begin{matrix}\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\emptyspace0\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\\ 867\overline{|\smallspace18}\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\end{matrix}

\mathrm{Multiply\:the\:quotient\:digit}\:\left(0\right)\:\mathrm{by\:the\:divisor}\:867
\begin{matrix}\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\emptyspace0\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\\ 867\overline{|\smallspace18}\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\\ \space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\underline{\emptyspace0}\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\space\end{matrix}

\mathrm{Subtract}\:0\:\mathrm{from}\:18
Due to a formula limit, I cannot apply the visual product here but I assume you can easily do this part! I believe I will be switching over to paint.net to provide pictures of work for long division!

\mathrm{The\:solution\:for\:Long\:Division\:of}\:\frac{18}{867}\:\mathrm{is}\:0\:\mathrm{with\:a\;remainder\:of}\:18

Hope this helps!
