Answer:

Checks and balances between the legislative and executive branches include, but is not limited too:

1) Legislative Branch: The Legislative Branch is able to pass bills as long as it meets the majority vote. (Check: The President can veto the bill if he does not like it or thinks that it is not good for the people).

2) Executive Branch: The Executive Branch has the ability to veto bills passed by the Legislative Branch. (Check: The Legislative Branch can over ride the veto if it gets the majority vote once again).

These checks represent the intentions of the Framers, for they do not want a certain individual (or branch of government) to become too powerful. In this case, the power rests in many different people, which makes it harder for their to be corruption.

True or false: if the house makes changes, the bill goes back to the original house for a veto
vlada-n [284]
I think you made a mistake in your question. The word "veto" would be replaced by the word "vote". I am writing the answer based on the change in the word. It would be absolutely true to say that if the house makes changes, the bill goes back to the original house for a vote. The correct option among the two options in the question is the first option.

Why was the germantown quaker petition against slavery so significant?
prohojiy [21]

Answer:The 1688 Germantown Quaker Petition Against Slavery was the first protest against African-American slavery made by a religious body in the English colonies. Francis Daniel Pastorius authored the petition; he and three other Quakers living in Germantown, Pennsylvania (now part of Philadelphia) signed it on behalf of the Germantown Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends. Clearly a highly controversial document, Friends forwarded it up the hierarchical chain of their administrative structure--monthly, quarterly, and yearly meetings--without either approving or rejecting it. The petition effectively disappeared for 150 years into Philadelphia Yearly Meeting's capacious archives; but upon rediscovery in 1844 by Philadelphia antiquarian Nathan Kite, latter-day abolitionists published it in 1844 in The Friend
