3x + x = 180

4x = 180

x = 45

Angle y = 45

Multiply 45 * 3 = 135

<x = 135

we know that

Supplementary angles are those angles whose sum is equal to 180 degrees

In this problem

x+y=180 --------> equation 1

x=3y --------> equation 2

Substitute the equation 2 in equation 1

[3y]+y=180

4y=180

y=45°

Find the value of x

x=3*45

x=135°

therefore

the answer is

The measure of angle x is 135°

Which expression can be used to find the surface area of the following square pyramid?
telo118 [61]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The slant height of one side of this pyramid is 5, and the base of this side is 4. Thus, the area of one slant side is (1/2)(5)(4) = 10 units^2.

There are 4 such sides. Thus, the total slant surface area is 4(10 units^2), or 40 units^2.

If you also want to include the base area, the total would be

40 units^2 + 16 units^2 = 56 units^2.
