I think its D because it can be because of many things. Here is a list of some of the variables that come to my mind:
Sugar intake depending on how much candy you eat, if any at all.
or
Meals will also add weight because most people don't have the chance to burn off the calories, whether they are playing with presents, or watching movies or whatever.

Your answer is D) not justifiable, because there is another variable to consider.
While Susie may gain weight during Christmas, the holiday is not magically making her gain weight. It is more likely all of those candy canes.
