First you need to multiply the number on the outside of the parentheses to what's inside. Then you need to subtract 1440 from both sides. After that you need to get all of the u's on one side so you subtract 256u from -160u and then you divide 832 by 96.

If y varies directly as x, and y is 16 when x is 4, when y= 24 what is the value of x?
sergejj [24]

Answer:

x = 6 possibly

Step-by-step explanation:

I am just an algebra student, but if I am correct I would appreciate a crown.

16/4 is 4, so i assumed that was the geometric pattern, so i divided 24 by 4 and got 6.

Hoped this helped.

In a circle an arc length 10 is intercepted by a central angle of 2/3 radius
djverab [1.8K]

We have been given that in a circle an arc length 10 is intercepted by a central angle of 2/3. We are supposed to find the radius of the circle.

We will use arc-length formula to solve our given problem.

l=r\theta, where,

l = Arc length,

r = Radius,

\theta = Central angle corresponding to arc length.

Upon substituting our given values in arc-length formula, we will get:

10=r\cdot \frac{2}{3}

10\cdot \frac{3}{2}=r\cdot \frac{2}{3}\cdot \frac{3}{2}

5\cdot \frac{3}{1}=r

15=r

Therefore, the radius of the given circle would be 15 units.
