How do the nervous system and endocrine system differ in regards to managing homeostasis?

Biology

Hello friend!!
The biggest difference between the two is that the nervous system uses electrical impulses to send signals through neurons, whereas the hormonal system uses chemical messengers transported into blood plasma to target cells.
Transmission by the nervous system is short-lived but quick, whereas transmission by the hormonal system is long-lasting but takes much longer. Hene, communication is faster when using the nervous system.
In the nervous system, responses are localised - whereas in the hormonal system, they are widespread. Responses are often permanent in the hormonal system, but temporary and reversible in the nervous system.

Who discovered the monomers of nucleic acids?
Kazeer [188]

Answer:

Phoebus Levene.

Explanation:

Two types of nucleic acids are DNA and RNA. The monomers of mucleic acid contains the pentose sugar, nitrogenous bases and the phosphate group attached with the bases.

Friedrich Miescher was the first scientists who discovered the nucleic acids. He identified the nucleic acids from the bandage that contains the nuclei of white blood cells. The new compounds discovered is known as nucleic acid. But the monomers of the nucleic acids was first explained by Phoebus Levene. Different forms of nucleic acid was also postulated by Phoebus Levene.

Thus, the answer is Phoebus Levene.

This type of energy is thought of as motion. What type of energy is present?<br> 1 point
MatroZZZ [7]

kinetic energy

The energy associated with an object's motion is called kinetic energy. A speeding bullet, a walking person, and electromagnetic radiation like light all have kinetic energy. Another example of kinetic energy is the energy associated with the constant, random bouncing of atoms or molecules.

If a volcano were to erupt and release large amounts of ash into the air, how would this affect the climate on Earth? A. The ash
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

A. The ash would increase the albedo and decrease the global temperature

Explanation:

The volcanoes can have a big impact on the global temperature. If the volcanic eruption is big enough, and the volcanoes manages to propel very large amount of ash in the atmosphere, the whole planet will feel the effect. The ash will make a layer in the atmosphere around the planet. This layer will increase the albedo of the atmosphere, as the ash will block big portion of the sunlight. That will result in much less sunlight reaching the surface of the Earth, thus in sharp decrease in the global temperatures.
