15.   x^2 +4x - 12 = 0
       We need to find square roots of this equation.
       solutions are   x1 = 2 and x2 = -6
       using factoring we can write this equation in a form:
       a* (x-x1) * (x-x2) where  "a" is coefficient in front of x^2 ( in this case its 1)
       therefore solution is
       (x-2) and (x+6)

17.    d) is the answer. To solve these kinds of questions just multiply factors and see if they match your expression.

18. again, we solve equation 24x^2 -4x -8 = 0
      x1 = -1/2 and x2 = 2/3
      24(x+1/2)*(x-2/3)
      8(x+1/2)*(3x-2)
      (8x + 4)*(3x-2)
answer is b)

A cube with a side of 1m was sawn into cubes with a side of 1 cm and then laid in a row (in a straight line). What was the lengt
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

10 km

Step-by-step explanation:

volume of cube = s^3

1 m = 100 cm

volume = s^3 = (1 m)^3 = (100 cm)^3 = 1,000,000 cm^3

Since 1 m^3 = 1,000,000 cm^3, when you lay down the 1-cm cubes in a straight line with the edges touching, the line is 1,000,000 cm long.

1,000,000 cm = 10,000 m = 10 km

Find the value of x in the picture please
Arada [10]

Answer:

Option D 74°

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The measurement of the outer angle is the semi-difference of the arcs it encompasses.

so

The arcs that the outer angle encompasses are

254° and (360-254)=106°

therefore

∠x=(1/2)[254°-106°]

∠x=(1/2)[148°]

∠x=74°
