\frac{7}{9}- \frac{3}{9}

you already have a same number at the bottom that means you only have to do is subtract 7 by 3 to get 4/9

is not possible to simplify 4/9

7/9 - 3/7 you see, the denominator is already the same (9 and 9) you don't have to multiply or anything, now 7/9 - 3/9 is like 7 - 3 that would equal 4 (4/9). You can not simplified because there's no number that goes in to 4/9 equally.

So the answer is 4/9

Mary purchases four book online. The book were the same price each, and the shipping fee was $7.25. If the total cost was $55.25
Sonja [21]

Answer:

The price per book that Mary purchased is $12

Step-by-step explanation:

Mary's total cost can be expressed as;

C=(p×n)+s

where;

C=total cost

p=price per unit of books

n=number of books purchased

s=shipping fee

In our case;

C=$55.25

p=unknown

n=4

s=$7.25

replacing;

55.25=(4×p)+7.25

4 p+7.25=55.25

4 p=55.25-7.25

4 p=48

p=48/4

p=12

The price per book that Mary purchased is $12
