For Addition, if the signs are the same, you add and keep the sign. And if they are different, you subtract and keep the sign of the greater absolute value.
For Subtraction, You change the subtraction sign to the addition one and then follow the rules of addition, above.

I'll solve 21, and you then should be able to solve the rest on your own!

Since ADC is 135, that means that that whole angle is 135 degrees. In addition, since angles ADB and BDC add up to ADC, we get ADB+BDC=ADC=135=11x+9+7x=18x+9. Subtracting 9 from both sides, we get 126=18x. Dividing both sides by 18, we get x=7. Plugging that into 11x+9=BDC, we get 11*7+9=77+9=86

AlexFokin [52]

Answer:

1/12

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 4 clothing choices and 3 colors.

4x3=12

This means you have a 1 in 12 chance of getting an orange hat.

This presupposes that there are EQUAL numbers of pieces and colors.  (111 of each).

A researcher wishes to estimate, with 99% confidence, the population proportion of adults who think the president of their co
scoray [572]

Answer:

a. n=4148

b. n=3909

c. The sample size is smaller if a known proportion from prior study is used. The difference in sample sizes is 239

Step-by-step explanation:

a. For sample where no preliminary estimate is given, the minimum sample size is calculated using the formula:

n=p(1-p)(\frac{z}{ME})^2

Where:

  • ME=Margin of error
  • p= is the assumed proportion

#Let p=0.5, substitute in the formula to solve for n:

n=0.5(1-0.5)\times (2.576/0.02)^2\\\\=4147.36\approx 4148

Hence, the minimum sample size is 4148

b. If given a preliminary estimate p=0.38, we use the same formula but substitute p with the given value:

n=p(1-p)(z/ME)^2\\\\=0.38(1-0.38)(2.576/0.02)^2\\\\=3908.47\approx3909

Hence, the minimum sample size is 3909

c. Comparing the sample sizes from a and b:

n_{0.5}>n_{0.38}\\\\n_{0.5}-n_{0.38}=4148-3909=239

Hence, the actual sample size is smaller for a known proportion from prior a prior study.

How to solve 11×11-6×17+4
almond37 [142]

use the order of operations for this equation.

multiplication comes first.

11(11) - 6(17) + 4

121 - 102 + 4

for addition and subtraction, order doesn’t matter.

121 - 102 = 19

19 + 4 = 23

answer = 23
