Population growth is at the root of many serious environmental problems. From the ancient Babylonians thousands of years ago, to

Thomas Malthus two centuries ago, to present day neo-Malthusians, humans seem to possess an awareness of Earth's limitations in the face of growing populations. Today, our ability to accurately quantify and monitor population growth is very sophisticated. We can measure growth and make predictions about world growth with mathematical and computer models. Despite long-lasting, rapid global population growth that is only recently starting to show signs of slowing, we have thus far been able to avoid global catastrophe. Can we continue to avoid disaster?

Answer:

Yes; technological developments have alleviated some of the strain on Earth's resources.

Explanation:

The answer to the first part of the question is yes, we can continue to avoid disaster that population growth will bring in as much we are able to replenish the depleting resources or we find a close substitute for the depleting resources.

Although, there has been predictions before that with the population growth, disaster is going to catch with us pretty soon enough but we are all still here. According to some economists this is possible because of human technological breakthrough.

With which person did Elizabeth Cady Stanton form a 50-year friendship and partnership to work for women’s rights?
joja [24]

Elizabeth Cady Stanton formed the friendship with Susan B. Anthony.

Susan B. Anthony was an American social reformer and women's rights activist. She played an important role in the women's suffrage movement and she appeared before every Congress between 1869 and 1906 on behalf of women's suffrage.

In 1851 she met Elisabeth Cady Stanton during an anti-slavery meeting in Seneca Falls. There, their historic and long-lasting friendship began.

They became co-workers in social reform activities and together they founded the New York Women's State Temperance Society and later the Women's Loyal National League that fought a long battle to abolish slavery.

Their biggest achievements were, however, associated with work for the American Women's Suffrage Association.

Stanton and Anthony remained close friends for over 50 years.
