Your company is considering a machine that will cost $ 6,407 at Time 0 and which can be sold after 3 years for $ 344 . To operat

e the machine, $ 817 must be invested at Time 0 in inventories; these funds will be recovered when the machine is retired at the end of Year 3. The machine will produce sales revenues of $ 1,204 /year for 3 years; variable operating costs (excluding depreciation) will be 56 percent of sales. Operating cash inflows will begin 1 year from today (at Time 1). The machine is in the 3-year MACRS class. The MACRS class has depreciation of 33% in year 1, 45% in year 2, 15% in year 3, and 7% in year 4. The company has a 39 percent tax rate, enough taxable income from other assets to enable it to get a tax refund from this project if the project's income is negative, and a 10 percent cost of capital. Inflation is zero. What are the terminal cash flows associated with ending this project

Answer:

The answer is "1201.7511".

Explanation:

Formula:

\text{The terminal value at End value of year 3 }= \text{reserve value} + \text{total capital of work}- \text {T(reserve value - book value at the end of 3 years) }

In this issue, maximum throughput capital is inventoried  total assets at year-end 3 = 7% of the initial rate.  It uses 7% because a computer is a MACRS class which takes three years. Because as the computer is now down 93% (33% for the first year, 45% for the second year, and 15% for the third year)

\to \text {Book value} = 0.07 \times \$ \ 6,407

                      = 448.49

The rescue value is $344 and the stock of $817.

Financial rate = 39%

Now include these all values in the above described marginal working capital formula,

Middle of year 3 terminal value:

=344 + 817 - 0.39 \times (344 - 448.49)\\\\= 1161-0.39 \times(-104.49) \\\\=1161+ 40.7511\\\\= 1201.7511\\\\

Reasons why South African post office taking private courier companies to court
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

Explanation:

As the only operator of this kind in South Africa, the Post Office has the exclusive right to provide delivery services for all letters, postcards, printed matter, small parcels, and other postal articles up to and including 1kg.

PostNet was initially ordered to stop delivering all packages weighing 1kg and less by 17 March 2020. However, it secured an interdict which allowed it to continue to deliver these packages until the full challenge was heard in the Gauteng High Court.

The Post Office, Postnet and the South African Express Parcel Association (SAEPA) are now set to head to court in a move that could have ramifications for the entire courier industry in South Africa.

Icasa spokesperson Paseka Maleka told BusinessDay that the regulator would give its support to the Post Office as it was following the letter of the law, which allowed private couriers to only deliver food items in the 1kg or less category.

“Icasa’s mandate is to implement what the law requires, and we are doing exactly that,” he said.

“There are exemptions that deal with businesses that do not fall under postal services. Uber Eats, Mr Delivery, etc are such businesses. Obviously, one cannot expect Sapo to be delivering pizza to a consumer,” he said.

Page(s) 39-41 2.3. What are the benefits of specialization and trade? In one month, Mikhail’s Furnishings can make 160 carpets o
Amanda [17]

Answer:

Mikhail's gains 10 carpets and 10 quilts from the trade. Dominique's also gains 10 carpets and 10 quilts from the trade.

Step-by-step Explanation:

Step 1: Capacity

Mikhail's can make 160 carpets or 160 quilts per month.

Dominique's can make 120 carpets or 200 quilts per month.

Step 2: Before Trade

Mikhail's makes 80 carpets and 80 quilts per month.

Dominique's makes 60 carpets and 100 quilts per month.

Step 3: After Trade:

Mikhail's makes 160 carpets per month.

Dominique's makes 200 quilts per month.

Trade = 70 carpets for 90 quilts.

Mikhail's now has 160 - 70 = 90 carpets and 90 quilts.

Dominique's now has 70 carpets and 200 - 90 = 110 quilts

Step 4: Gains from Trade:

Mikhail's gains 90 - 80 = 10 carpets and 90 - 80 = 10 quilts from trade.

Dominique's gains 70 - 60 = 10 carpets and 110 - 100 = 10 quilts from trade.
