A quadratic equation with real coefficients and leading coefficient 1, has x = -bi as a root. Write the equation in general form
andrey2020 [161]
The general form of quadratic equation with real coefficients and leading coefficient 1, has x = -bi as a root
=> x = -b  + √ b^2 – 4 ac
                    2a

It is also written as:
=> ax^2 + bx + c = 0

Quadratic equation involves unknown numbers which is x, the numbers which a, b and c are called coeffecients.
There are also quadratic factorization where you factor the polynomial give to be able to get the value of the equation.

Is the ordered pair (0, 4) a solution of the inequality y≤x−3? Explain.
Andrew [12]

The ordered pair (0,4) does not satisfy the inequality thus, it will be not the solution to the given inequality.

What is inequality?

A mathematical phrase in which the sides are not equal is referred to as being unequal. In essence, a comparison of any two values reveals whether one is less than, larger than, or equal to the value on the opposite side of the equation.

As per the given inequality,

y ≤ x - 3

Put x = 0

y ≤ 0 - 3

y ≤ -3

Since 4 ≤ -3 is the wrong statement thus it will not satisfy the inequality.

Hence "The ordered pair (0,4) does not satisfy the inequality thus, it will be not the solution to the given inequality".

-2/5x - 1/2 + x = -40/11
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer: x = 6.56

Step-by-step explanation: -0.4x - 0.5 + x = 3.63

-0.4x^2 - 0.5 = 3.63

-0.4x^2 = 4.13

0.63x = 4.13

x = 6.56

Melanie swarm for 142 minutes during her first week of vacation. In her two weeks of vacation she swam for a total of 347 minute
Soloha48 [4]

Answer: Melanie swam 63 minutes more in second week.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given , Time taken by Melanie in first week to swim = 142 minutes

Combined time taken by her in first two weeks in swimming = 347 minutes

Now , time taken by her in second week = (Combined time of first two week) - (Time taken in first week)

= 347-142 minutes

=  205 minutes

Clearly , 205 > 142 i.e. She swam more in second week than first week./

Difference i= 205-142 = 63

Therefore, Melanie swam 63 minutes more in second week.
