Answer:

I don't think they are

An equivalent ratio for 5:20 is 10:40

An equivalent ratio for 3:16 is 6:32

You have to multiply both numbers by the same numerical, I used 2

No they are not equivalent to each other

One way you can figure out if equations are equal or not is if you cross multiply
Like
5:20
3:16. 5x16=80
3x20=60

Sasha is tracking the results of the water balloon contest. She wants to determine how high Maggie’s balloon is when it is direc
arsen [322]

Answer:

Maggie's ballon is 12 high.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are asked to find the y-value, and the x-value is given:

Plug the values in to solve for y.

y = -(2)^2 + 17(2) - 42 y

= -(4) + 34 - 42 y

= -4 + 34 - 42 y

= -12

The negative sign tells the direction. It is negative because the ballon is in the opposite direction.

Y=x-7
6x-6y=-7

elimination method
Archy [21]

Answer:

The system has no solutions.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's write it in a more traditional form

\left \{ {{x-y=7} \atop {6x-6y=-7}} \right. \\

Try staring at it for a bit, and then realize what you are being asked: find two numbers whose difference is - at the same time, 7, and -7/6. That's impossible.

Same result you get by elimination. Multiply the first by 6 and either add or subtract - your choice the second. In either case you will get 0 = 35 or 0=49, which are obviously absurd
